NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) shared her reaction to her colleague Sen JD Vance (R-OH) being picked as running mate by GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump during her appearance on the Wednesday, July 17 episode of 'The View'.

Joining co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics table, Warren also emphasized the importance of focusing on important issues ahead of the general election and clarifying the differing perspectives of the two major parties on them so that voters can make an informed decision.

Elizabeth Warren shares her take on evolution of JD Vance

Elizabeth Warren told Joy Behar that she had previously worked with JD Vance to "reign in the big banks" and claimed that his personality has since changed significantly.

"The original JD Vance ... referred to Donald Trump as 'America's Hitler,'" noted the former law professor, adding, "The JD Vance now ... is more Trump than Trump on abortion."

Warren added, "He is the JD Vance who says, 'Cut social security and medicare. And we'll help Donald Trump to do that.' He is the JD Vance who says, 'Get rid of the Affordable Care Act.' And for anyone with health insurance, that is a real risk."

"And it's JD Vance who owes his entire political career to billionaires, literally, who swooped in, poured money into his race in Ohio, lifted him up. And he is all there on a tax cut that would give every billionaire $3.5 million every year in tax cuts paid for by you (American voters)," remarked the Massachusetts senator.

Elizabeth Warren outlines strategy for Democrats to change the narrative surrounding Joe Biden

With growing calls for incumbent Joe Biden to step aside, Alyssa Farah Griffin asked the Democrat what her party could do to turn the narrative around in the three and half months until the election.

Warren feels the solution lies in talking about "the issues, not personalities, issues and where the contrast is between the parties."

She shared, "Think of it this way. This is the one time we have two people who have been presidents running against each other."

"Donald Trump has exactly two accomplishments - one legislatively, that was the $2 trillion tax break ... mostly sucked up by millionaires, billionaires, and giant corporations. Second, was an extremist Supreme Court that took away access to abortion, IVF, Voting Rights Act, (and) unionization. That's Donald Trump... He fights for billionaires and extremists," stated Warren.

The senator continued, "By contrast, who is Joe Biden out there fighting for? Joe Biden is the one who got us $35 insulin, who has put a cap of $2,000 on out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors a year, and who has canceled student loan debts for nearly 5 million people. And by the way, more cancellations to come."

She stressed, "Joe Biden is going after junk fees, after corporate price gougers who are hurting you at the grocery store and at the gas pump, and he believes ... that billionaires ought to pay more in taxes and help run this country. So who is Joe Biden fighting for? He is not fighting for the top one-tenth of one percent. Joe Biden is fighting for everyone else."

She concluded by highlighting the need for more conversations around the subject, and on the "America that we can build."
