WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway stated that voters deserve to see a debate between the Democratic and Republican vice presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and JD Vance, ahead of the general election in November, on Tuesday, July 16.

Her comments came a day after former President Donald Trump announced Sen JD Vance from Ohio as his running mate on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN - JULY 15: Republican presidential candidate, former U.S. President Donald Trump (L) and Republican Vice Presidential candidate, U.S. Sen. J.D. According to ABC News, Vice President Harris left Vance a congratulatory voicemail on his selection on Monday, following which Vance returned her call on Tuesday to exchange pleasantries.

Both candidates have agreed on having a debate, but are still working on the terms of participation, sources shared with the network.

Kelly Conway's take on JD Vance and the VP debate

"In selecting Sen JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate, President Trump made very clear (that) he is impressed with the story of JD Vance," Kellyanne Conway shared with Fox News.

"Sen Vance, in less than two years, has distinguished himself as a United States Senator on foreign policy, national security, (and) on domestic and economic concerns," she continued.

"He is fluid in all of the issues, he is unafraid to tackle them, and I think he showed great humility in admitting that Sen Vance, like millions of Americans, did not think President Trump had what it took in 2016- didn't think he could win or govern as a Conservative," Conway stated.

"And JD Vance, like many Americans, gave Donald Trump a second glance, a second chance, and said, 'This guy is delivering. The results really tell the tale.' That is exactly the kind of conversation that many Americans are having and grappling with now, in deciding for whom to vote and whether to bother at all," she added.

Conway described the debate between the vice presidential candidates as the "most important thing" right now, stating, "The country deserves to see them side by side, just like Trump and Biden, and I hope Kamala Harris will agree to debate JD Vance."

"I don't want to be her," she quipped, "Because he is a wonderful debater and he has a better record to defend in the Trump legacy. But hopefully, they (Harris and Vance) would agree to that and not shirk away from it."

Internet predicts JD Vance will come out on top

Netizens expressed their belief that JD Vance can easily take on Kamala Harris in a debate, reacting to Kellyanne Conway's comments on Facebook.

"Vance would destroy Harris in a debate," wrote a person. "He will wipe the floor with her," stated another.

"That debate would be disastrous for her. She couldn't giggle through the whole thing. Or repeat a stupid sentence over and over!" jibed a user.

"Vance has nothing to worry about," claimed another. "He will destroy her and she knows it... facts are facts," commented a user.
