Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi turn to hypnosis for 'a fresh start' amid relationship challenges
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have reportedly been taking the help of hypnosis to fix their relationship that reportedly been damaged over the last few years.
The couple’s marriage reportedly went through a rough time amid DeGeneres’ controversy. The beloved television host was accused of creating a hostile and toxic work environment on her famed talk show called ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
Hypnosis doing ‘wonders for’ Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, claims source
A source has, however, now told InTouch Weekly, “Ellen’s undergone hypnosis before, and she’s got Portia hooked on it too. They go together, and it’s done wonders for their mental and physical well-being.”
The source further stated, “Falling into a soothing, half-conscious state is something they look forward to, like taking a nice nap on holiday."
“It’s reminding them why they fell in love and creating a fresh start by helping them to get over things in the painful past, such as Ellen’s cancellation,” the insider further added.
The source also explained how hypnosis is helping the duo.
They said, “They hardly argue anymore, and Ellen’s happier than she’s been in a long while. She can get back to her stand-up routine with confidence and know she’ll have Portia at her back.”
‘Ellen being home all the time’ has affected her married life
The hypnosis revelation came after an insider disclosed last month that Ellen DeGeneres and her 51-year-old actress wife were struggling in their marriage. The two got married in 2008.
They elaborated, “They just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary [on August 16], but it wasn’t exactly celebratory. Ellen being home all the time has taken a toll on their marriage."
“And Portia isn’t working much either. They’re always in each other’s face, and frankly, they’re getting on each other’s nerves,” the source added.
Also, earlier De Rossi wanted the 66-year-old comedian to take off from her career but now she “probably wishes she hadn’t.”
“She doesn’t have her space. Every time she turns around, there’s Ellen,” the source added.
Ellen DeGeneres says toxic work environment allegations were ‘devastating’
In April, Ellen DeGeneres had reportedly addressed the issues her namesake show faced.
She said, “The hate went on for a long time, and I would try to avoid looking at the news. The ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”
“I’m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was devastating. It took a long time for me to want to do anything again,” she added.
