LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to rock legend Neil Young trolling him and his car brand in a recent concert on the social media platform X, which he also owns, on Tuesday, April 29, reported Radar Online.

Young performed at a benefit concert in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 26, when he sang an adaptation of the hit song 'This Land Is Your Land', which was reworked to take a jibe at car manufacturers.

After a Tesla fan account shared Young's lyric calling out the company on X, Musk replied, "Neil Olde."

What did Neil Young sing about Tesla?

The song that Young belted out at the recent concert is reportedly titled 'Let's Roll Again.'

The lyrics went, "Come on Ford / Come on GM / Come on Chrysler / Let’s roll again / Build something special, that people need / Build us a safe way for us to live / Build us something that won’t kill our kids / Build us something that runs real clean / Come on America, let’s get in the race / China’s way ahead, they’re making clean cars.”

They seemingly referred to the numerous crashes suffered by self-driving Tesla cars over the years, reported the Daily Beast. Young became more direct with his attack on Musk's car company towards the end of the song, as he went, "If you’re a fascist, get a Tesla / It’s electric, it doesn’t matter."

A vocal critic of President Donald Trump, whom Musk backed in the previous election and has been serving as an adviser since, Young further sang, "If you’re a Democrat, taste your freedom / Get whatever you want, taste your freedom.”

Tesla has been suffering as a result of Musk's association with Trump, and his actions as the chair of the Department of Government Efficiency. In addition to facing widespread protests, the company has reportedly lost almost 50 percent of its market cap from December 2024 to March 2025.

Elon Musk fans slam Neil Young on X

Elon Musk supporters have taken to the social media platform X to troll Young over the lyrics of his song. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Always been a liberal hack," jibed another.

"The guy has always been depressing," shared a third.

"He's no longer relevant," claimed a fourth.

"Aw bless his misinformed heart. Go Tesla go," quipped a fifth.
