Trump authorizes bold airstrike, Nicolas Maduro captured in Venezuela

President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike on Venezuela aimed at capturing Nicolas Maduro. As per Fox News, US forces carried out a short, intense operation, capturing Maduro and his wife and flying them out of the country.

On the ground in Caracas, witnesses reported explosions, power outages near military installations, and aircraft overhead. Videos showed tracer fire and smoke over the city and another coastal location.

Officials said the operation, dubbed “Absolute Resolve,” had been planned and rehearsed for months. In the days leading up to the strike, the military quietly built up its presence off Venezuela’s coast while intelligence agencies closely monitored Maduro’s daily routine.

Officials tracked his movements, habits, and even details such as his pets and clothing, according to the AP News. Trump said a full-scale replica of Maduro’s residence was built for rehearsal. “They actually built a house which was identical to the one they went into with all the same, all that steel all over the place,” he said.

Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, described the preparations as exhaustive. “We think, we develop, we train, we rehearse, we debrief, we rehearse again, and again,” Caine said as per Daily Press. “Not to get it right, but to ensure we cannot get it wrong.”

Meanwhile, Army Delta Force commandos were flown to the military base where Maduro was staying to carry out the mission.
