WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk’s latest move as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has sparked chaos, resistance, and hilarious trolling.

The billionaire, now overseeing a controversial shake-up of federal agencies, ordered all government employees to justify their jobs by submitting weekly accomplishment reports.

His directive, which included a not-so-subtle warning about job security, triggered an immediate backlash but rather than just complaining, people online decided to have some fun, as reported by Irish Star.

Elon Musk found himself at the center of an online roasting session as spammers and critics flooded his email with responses meant to troll the billionaire. The latest incident has sparked widespread discussion, with many taking the opportunity to poke fun at Musk’s online presence and leadership style.

Across the internet, users have joined in on the trend by crafting their own versions of the email or imagining what they would send if they were federal employees.

One wrote, "It’s so crazy that you can just literally email Elon at HR@opm.gov."

According to two sources, including a former Trump administration official, responses to Musk’s recent OPM email have been inundated with pranks and, as the official described, “very rude” messages featuring fabricated and obscene “accomplishments."

"I just sent this email to Musk “HR” team why the f**k did they accept email from non government sources lmao f**king idiots, send them an email yourself : hr@opm.gov," a user wrote.

People are flooding Musk’s inbox in response to his "What did you do last week?" directive. One user joked, "You really can just email Elon Musk at hr@opm.gov," attaching a file detailing their own weekly accomplishments.

One user quipped, "One thing that all of Elon's superfans share with him is a grinding, painful humorlessness." Another chimed in with, "Make sure you spend all of your day doing it too!"

"Are we paying Elmo to sit on X and tweet?" one user joked. Another took a jab at Musk’s management style, writing, "If someone who worked for him tweeted half as much as he does, would he fire them?"

Others joined in on the sarcasm, with one user adding, "Will he tell me ‘good job, keep doing what you’re doing’?"

A user remarked, "Comedy gold. Elon should laugh at this. Not holding my breath." Another joked, "Will he find me if I use this email address?"

Over the weekend, Musk tweeted that all federal employees should be required to submit a weekly email outlining their accomplishments as proof that they are earning their positions.

He wrote, "Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation."

During a Monday afternoon, February 24, address from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump praised Musk’s email proposal as “ingenious,” adding that those who fail to reply would be considered “semi-fired or fired.”

It stated, "Please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc: your manager. Please do not send any classified information, links, or attachments. Deadline is Monday at 11:59pmEST."
