AUSTIN, TEXAS: Grimes, the Canadian singer and former partner of Elon Musk, has pushed back on claims that she was “dumped” by the tech billionaire.

After Azealia Banks reignited their feud on X (formerly Twitter), the 36-year-old artist clarified her decision to end the four-year relationship and shared an update about her children, reported Daily Mail.

The feud ignited when Grimes responded to a Photoshopped image of her and Azealia Banks depicted as Glinda and Elphaba from 'Wicked', commenting, "Hate to say it, but it would've been kinda lit."

Banks, however, didn’t hold back her displeasure, firing back: “@Grimezsz girl the way you are still trying to hold out on some weird a** innocent bulls**t years later after you got dumped, cheated on, your kids kidnapped and still trying to paint me like the villain and act like your above me."

After a public feud with rapper Azealia Banks reignited online, Grimes responded to allegations of being cheated on and dumped.

"It's just a funny joke bro. Not trying to paint you as a villain. I didn't "get dumped." I bounced," Grimes wrote, adding, “My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me, I'm in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as you want it to be. You're insanely talented. even after all this, I want you to win. God bless (my lady)"

The drama unfolded after Azealia Banks reacted to a humorous post by Grimes, referencing their years-long feud. Banks fired back with sharp accusations, reigniting their turbulent history.

In her response, Grimes remained lighthearted, calling Banks “the Da Vinci of insults” and saying, “At a point, I just gave up and accepted that I appreciate the madness of existence.”

The two women have had a contentious relationship since 2018, when Banks alleged that Grimes invited her to Musk’s home for a music collaboration, only for the situation to spiral into chaos. Over the years, both have traded barbs and leveled accusations ranging from drug use to artistic rivalry.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, and Musk share three children, sons X Æ A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus, and daughter Exa Dark Siderael.

In response, Grimes filed a "petition to establish parental relationship" in California, a typical first step in seeking custody for unmarried parents.

Grimes accused Musk of withholding access to their children and claimed that he prevented them from visiting their terminally ill maternal grandmother. However, a Travis County Clerk has confirmed that the dispute in Texas has been resolved, though further details regarding the settlement have not been disclosed.

Elon Musk and musician Grimes (born Claire Boucher) first sparked dating rumors in April 2018 after a flirty exchange on Twitter. Just days later, the couple made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala, though they kept their relationship relatively private. A source at the time confirmed they were seeing each other, but maintaining a low profile.

Grimes publicly confirmed her breakup with Elon Musk through a post on X, referencing a 2022 Vanity Fair article about their relationship.
