'Key decade': Elton John and husband David Furnish reveal why iconic singer won't return to touring
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elton John has put all speculations to rest over his return to touring.
The legendary singer in his recent interview with ET revealed that he has no plans to resume his touring career.
The 77-year-old, who shares sons Zachary Jackson, 13, and Elijah Joseph, 11, with husband David Furnish, did his last tour show Farewell Yellow Brick Road in Stockholm in July 2023, where he told the crowd it had been "52 years of pure joy."
Elton John and David Furnish want to be around their children
When asked about Elton John's return to tour on Thursday, June 27, the ‘Sorry Seems to Be’ crooner simply responded with, "No."
Furnish then explained, “We've got our sons, you know, they're getting into their teenage years now.”
"We don't want to miss anything. We want to be present for that. It's sort of a key decade, I think, in a child's life. He's been doing it for 60 years. So it's nice to have that time to spend at home with family," he continued.
John further explained, "The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went: 'Yes! yes!' We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there's no going back [after] that."
Recently, the pair celebrated the 11th birthday of son Elijah, and also posted on Instagram, “Happy Birthday to our beautiful son Elijah. Can’t believe you’re 11! You fill our hearts with so much love and laughter. We love you. Papa and Daddy xo."

Fans support Elton John's decision to not return to touring again
Internet agreed with Elton John's prioritizing his family over his music career.
One Facebook user commented on John's answer on touring, "We saw his last concert in St. Paul on his last tour, given the energy he put into that concert, I can’t believe he has any feeling in his hands or his throat. He went out in a bang, and I’m sure he has more to come. Enjoy life with your family."
"That’s. Great. So glad we saw him in concert years ago," a second individual penned.
"Truthfully, now; he is too old.. Touring is hard," a user reasoned.
"Good for you Elton! I’m so happy I saw you a few times in concert! Go and be a dad!" expressed a fan.
One optimistic fan wrote, "He will never stop singing. He made a great choice ❤️💯🙏🍀."
