ABU DHABI, UAE: Eminem took to the stage at Etihad Park in the UAE capital just days after his mother's death, performing his songs in their entirety, including lines that criticize her.

Debbie Nelson, his mother, passed away on December 2 at the age of 69 due to complications from lung cancer. Although they had a complex relationship, the loss of a mother is an incredibly difficult experience.

Eminem had crowd sing 'f**k you Debbie' at concert days after mother's death

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, had been estranged from his mother for years before her death because of numerous legal disputes. He even wrote a song detailing their difficult relationship, notably exclaiming "F**k you Debbie" in his hit track 'Without Me'.

A few days following his mother's death, he performed that very track at his concert in Abu Dhabi on December 7. The rapper's concert was part of the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

Fans were uncertain whether he would perform the lyric after his mother's death, but he opted to have the crowd sing it instead of altering the words. This particular lyric sung by the crowd has been a hallmark of his concerts for years.

In 1999, Eminem's mother filed a lawsuit against him following the release of his song 'My Name Is', which included a line referencing her drug use.

Nelson filed a defamation lawsuit against her son, seeking $10 million in damages. Although she won the case, she was awarded only $25,000, most of which was absorbed by legal fees.
