Dawn Robinson admits she has been living in her car for 3 years now

In an 18-minute, 40-second video titled "YOUR NEW LIFE IS IN THE SCARY," En Vogue hitmaker Dawn Robinson opened up about living her life out of a car.

She began by saying, "You guys, for the past three years, I have been living in my car. I said it, oh my gosh, it’s out."

Robinson explained the series of events that led her to make the decision. "That was wonderful until it wasn’t. I love my mom, but she became very angry. A lot of her anger, she was taking out on me. I was her target all the time and I was like, ‘I can’t deal with this,’" she said.

After months of living in her car, Robinson received help from one of her managers, who offered her a place to stay. However, the situation quickly soured when she realized there was no room for her in his home.

She ended up staying in a hotel for eight months while continuing her search for an apartment. Yet, her manager kept making excuses about why the apartments weren’t right for her.

She continued, "Every apartment that I looked at, every single time I looked at a place, I would call him, and I’m like, ‘Okay, can you meet me here?’ I would tell him ahead of time, of course. And then, he wouldn’t meet me there. So I would take video and send it to him, and he’s like, ‘No, oh my god. This neighborhood, I hate it.'"
