LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey has suggested that he might run for the president’s office.

Appearing as his ‘House of Cards’ character, Frank Underwood, he sat down for an interview with Tucker Carlson as they talked about Netflix and the 2024 US presidential election, Variety reported.

‘Our country needs to stop apologizing and stiffen up’

When Carlson asked Spacey if he thought of joining the presidential race, the 64-year-old said, “Well, that’s really a decision for the people, Tucker. It’s not something that I really think about or want to do.”

The ‘American Beauty’ actor further stated, “But I’ve always believed that nothing should be off the table in life or art. I think we can both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room, so if that means taking on the chief executive role, well that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this great nation.”

“Our country needs to stop apologizing and stiffen up. We have so many people running with so many different issues, like gun control, but let’s be honest. More people are killed by online trolls every day,” he mentioned.

Kevin Spacey commented on candidates of the election

Spacey then went on to comment on the candidates who are competing for the White House.

He told Carlson, “I like Vivek ‘Drain the Ramaswamy’ and Nikki Haley is tough. She’s no doubt learned a thing or two from watching me. But I think in the end we need someone in the White House who’s not afraid like me.”

“Not afraid to push our country, or a journalist, in the right direction, if it comes to that,” he said.

‘Netflix exists because of me’

In the interview, Spacey also discussed his firing from Netflix following allegations of sexual assault by several men.

The BAFTA Award-winning reportedly actor, “It is bizarre that [Netflix] decided to publicly cut ties with me on allegations alone — allegations that have now been proven false.”

“Because I don’t think there’s any question; Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map and they tried to put me in the ground,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Spacey's weird interview has received a lot of attention online with a Facebook user saying, "Please no...there's enough unqualified buffoons in Congress."

Another YouTube user commented, "Love to see him back in the spotlight. Superb actor and a strong human to fight off foolishness. 3rd party! lol."

The third one added, "Kevin Spacey is fast becoming a staple of Christmas weirdly."
