The couple, who have remained close since their separation in 2018, are focusing on their family while facing this difficult chapter together.

Rebecca Gayheart, 53, took to Instagram Stories on Saturday, April 12, to share a meaningful quote often attributed to Rose Kennedy. The message read, “Life isn’t a matter of milestones, but of moments.”
The post came shortly after Dane, 52, publicly shared his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
“I have been diagnosed with ALS,” the 'Grey’s Anatomy' alum stated to People on Thursday, April 10. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”
Dane and Gayheart share two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.

Despite the health news, Dane noted he still plans to remain active in his profession and is looking forward to returning to the set of 'Euphoria'.
Rebecca Gayheart shares 'real luxuries' in now-deleted post
Just hours after Eric Dane’s statement, Rebecca Gayheart also posted another message to her now deleted Instagram Stories—this time listing what she called “the real luxuries in life.”
The anonymous quote highlighted, “Time, health, a quiet mind, slow mornings, ability to travel, rest without guilt, a good night’s sleep, calm and ‘boring’ days, meaningful conversations, home-cooked meals, people you love, people who love you back," US Weekly noted.
The couple, who married in 2004, separated in 2018 when Gayheart filed for divorce. However, earlier this month, she filed to dismiss the petition.

Rebecca Gayheart calls her bond with Eric Dane a 'success'
Rebecca Gayheart recently opened up about her relationship with Eric Dane and how they’ve remained connected through the years, especially for the sake of their children.
“We are best of friends. We are really close. We are great co-parents,” she told E! News on Wednesday, April 9.
“We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it and we are as well," she added.
Although the pair had been separated for seven years, Gayheart said she still sees their time together as meaningful.
“I think it’s important to not look at a relationship that ends as a failure. It’s just a season. It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success,” Gayheart added.
“We were married for, I mean, we are still married, but together for 15 years and we had two beautiful kids so I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it," she said.
