NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Emmy-winning actor Eric Stonestreet fondly recalled the heartwarming ‘Modern Family’ reunion during an interview on the ‘Today’ show with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.

Hinting at the possibility of another gathering for the hit show's cast, Stonestreet reflected on the recent reunion at Sofia Vergara's home – the first since the show concluded its 11-season run in 2020.

In addition to discussing the ‘Modern Family’ reunion, Stonestreet also shared insights into his role in the upcoming season of ‘The Santa Clauses,’ where he brings laughs to TV as a Santa.

The actor also opened up about his engagement with his long-time girlfriend, Lindsay Schweitzer, and addressed his newfound status as an online meme.



 

Eric Stonestreet opens up about ‘Modern Family’ reunion with ‘Today’ hosts 

During a recent ‘Today with Hoda and Jenna’ segment, Eric Stonestreet shared fond memories of the ‘Modern Family’ reunion that took place at Sofia Vergara's home in November.

With hints of another gathering in the works, the cast reconnected for the first time since the popular show concluded its 11-season run in 2020.

He told Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb, “It’s fun, right? That group of people hadn’t been together since we wrapped. I hadn’t seen the kids since we wrapped, so it was great to see them."

Stonestreet continued and said, “And then everybody thought Ty died because of the picture we were holding up of him and the flowers. And we didn't realize it at the time, but it did kind of look like a memorial. We're all in black."

The actor further revealed, “That’s the great thing we had with that show. We all got along so great and we all loved each other so much, so it was just like — you know how it was. ... We had a great time."

Discussing their wedding plans, he revealed a unique vision that involved building a house to host the ceremony and a reunion with his former 'Modern Family' castmates.

Stonestreet expressed a desire to create a special event, recognizing the challenge of coordinating multiple reunions in Kansas City but aiming for an extraordinary celebration.

He said, “Kind of the idea was to build a house and host a wedding and do a reunion with all the 'Modern Family' (cast)."

Sophia Vergara shares first 'Modern Family' reunion snaps
