WASHINGTON, DC: Erika Kirk is facing criticism from Candace Owens after claiming she is the “sole provider” for her family six months after her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was fatally shot at a Utah campus event in September 2025.

In her YouTube series 'The Bride of Charlie', Owens slammed Erika, saying her late husband had his “financial house in order” and that Erika was fully supported financially following his death.

In the March 4 episode of 'Bride of Charlie', Candace Owens said the claim frustrates her because it downplays how smart and financially capable Charlie Kirk was.

Owens shared, "She's now, as she says, and this is what really frustrates me. She calls herself the sole provider. Okay? It frustrates me because what it truly does is it discounts who Charlie was. How genius he was, how financially savvy he was."

The conservative commentator added that Erika is trying to "relate like she's just like a single mom and and trying and working a 9-to-5 working at a restaurant trying to make ends meet for her children and the father's gone."

“No, she's not implying in any way here or being clear here that Charlie had a life insurance policy both at home, at work, which she would have benefited tremendously from,” Owens said.

She claimed that Erika could receive up to $10 million from Charlie’s Turning Point USA life insurance policy. "In fact, some people have done work, and I believe just at the life insurance policy that Turning Point had for Charlie in the event of his passing, Erika was set to receive $10 million from his work policy."

Candace Owens feels Erika Kirk’s 'sole provider' claim is an insult to Charlie

Erika recently said, "I have to be the sole provider for my children," at a Club America event.

Candace Owens also criticized Erika Kirk over the “sole provider" claim, calling it “an insult to Charlie because it implies he had nothing.”

Owens said, "Charlie always had his financial house in order. Investments, whether he was investing in real estate, he had trust for their children, a life insurance policy would have been a no-brainer for him. And like I said, she benefited to the tune of millions."

She added that in the aftermath of Charlie's death, strangers online raised millions through GoFundMe campaigns for Erika and the kids. Owens accused Erika of pretending she isn’t a multi-millionaire, pointing out that she travels on a private plane, uses drivers, and has a full security team.

Owens added, "This girl doesn't even touch her own door handles, just to be clear. She's constantly got, oh, also a fleet of security, but she's just like you. You know, 'this is the hand I was dealt. I'm the only provider, so I got to get on my private plane and speak."
