WASHINGTON, DC: Erika Kirk honored her late husband, Charlie Kirk, with a deeply emotional tribute on Friday, February 13, marking her first Valentine’s Day since his death.

Through a heartfelt Instagram post, Erika reflected on the bond they shared, the life they built together, and the handwritten letters Charlie left behind—words that now hold even greater meaning in his absence.

In the post, Erika shared a photo of a handwritten note Charlie once wrote to her. The image also showed the hand of one of their two young children, adding another layer of tenderness to the moment.

Erika explained that Charlie’s letters were always intentional and deeply meaningful, written when he chose to ignore what she called the “noise of the world” to focus solely on expressing his love for her.

“What I would give for one more love letter…They had such a deep reverence about them,” she wrote.

She described the letters as feeling “sacred” and said they carried a depth of love the couple could never fully articulate in words. Now, she reads those messages slowly, absorbing every line, even as the weight of loss settles in.

“And as I read your words, the weight on my heart reminds me of a reality that we were never promised gray hair and rocking chairs even though we assumed it was guaranteed,” Erika wrote.

Despite the grief, she shared that she finds comfort in talking to their children about the marriage she and Charlie shared.

“But my goodness, do I love telling the babies about the fullness of our covenant that left a mark on my soul,” she added. “My favorite love story."

Alongside her tribute, Erika offered a message to her followers, urging them to spend meaningful time with their loved ones and to write love letters to each other.

She noted that while a letter may seem like a small gesture in the moment, it can become priceless if someone passes away.

“A letter like this might seem trivial, but you just never know the course life will take,” she wrote. “If the Lord calls you home, even in your absence, as they reflect on your words, your love is still serving them.”

Erika concluded her message with a direct note to her late husband: “I love you Charlie baby, you will always be my Valentine.”
