LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Desperate Housewives' star Eva Longoria is reportedly leaving Hollywood as she and her husband Jose Baston are desperate to escape the "Hollywood cycle."

The couple, who share son Santiago, 5, reportedly worry that if they don't get out of the Hollywood loop, the child would get "sucked into the cycle."

According to a source, they are so eager to relocate that they have reduced the price of their Beverley Hills property, saying that "they are just ready to get out," per The Mirror.

According to insiders, Eva and her husband Jose are leaving Los Angeles for a life in Spain because they are afraid their 5-year-old son Santiago would get stuck in the "Hollywood cycle" if they stay in the United States.

The 49-year-old actress and 56-year-old businessman from Mexico recently reduced the price of their eight-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion from $22.8 to $18.9 million, and they have already begun moving their belongings to their recently remodeled house in Marbella, Spain.

"Eva and Jose are leaving Los Angeles for good and have put their home up for sale again," an insider exclusively revealed to the Daily Mail.

The insider added, "They took it off the market in June but recently relisted it for $4 million less in February because they are just ready to get out."

"They are already shipping their belongings there and this is not something that they will change their mind on," the source dished. The insider stated that the couple desire Santiago to grow up "surrounded by nature and beauty and not be sucked into the whole Hollywood cycle."

Eva has been reported to feel that she has "had everything that she wanted in Hollywood" and to be "so excited" about the permanent relocation.

"They are moving to their home in Spain full time and are both so excited about it. She has had everything that she wanted in Hollywood," the source said.

The couple's eight-bedroom luxury apartment is being traded in for a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mega house in Marbella, Spain, that Eva and Jose purchased in early 2023.

The 'Desperate Housewives' star, who married Jose in 2016, hired architect and interior designer Nicolas Escanez to help renovate the enormous property in Marbella.

The 1,531-square-meter estate also includes a cutting-edge home gym, a sauna, and an indoor pool.

"The first time I came to Marbella, two decades ago, it was love at first sight. I said to myself: 'Some day I'll live here'," remarked Eva, who exhibited their opulent mansion in Hello! Magazine in January 2024.

"Later, we set up the Global Gift Foundation, and this is where Antonio Banderas, my best friend María Bravo and I held the first gala," she added.

Eva went on to discuss discovering the house, "Five years ago, I said to Nico, who's very clued-up about property: 'When you see the right place, let me know.' I viewed a few places, but nothing was quite what I wanted."

"Finally, in early 2023, this house came on the market. It needed refurbishing, but it had just the size and location I was after. So, taking advantage of the fact that I was in Barcelona filming, I came down and bought it that same day."

Eva holds Spanish citizenship and due to her family's ties to the Spanish city of Oviedo, she was granted the honorary title "Dame" two years ago.

Eva Longoria addressed concerns over Los Angeles

Eva has been candid about her concerns over Los Angeles, telling Hello! Magazine that it is "not really so glamorous" and "always super busy," adding, "I'm either on set, or in a meeting, or stuck in traffic... there's so much traffic."

"Both LA and Marbella are close to the sea and have wonderful weather year-round, but apart from that, they couldn't be more different," she added.

"I don't have a schedule here," she said. "My days are full of activities – paddle tennis, the beach, lunch, drinks, socializing… in fact, they're full to the brim, but with things I really enjoy."

Eva is the most recent star to relocate to Spain from Los Angeles; a trend that is gaining popularity in Hollywood.

In 2022, Amber Heard quietly left Hollywood to raise her daughter in Madrid, "away from all the noise."

Recently, Richard Gere revealed that he had moved permanently to the Spanish city to be nearer to the family of his wife Alejandra Silva.

Hilary Swank, who listed her $10.5 million Pacific Palisades house for sale and moved to Colorado with her family in 2021, is one of the other celebrities escaping Hollywood.
