'Everyone wants to know what's wrong': Nicole Kidman's pals worried actress's hectic schedule's taking its toll

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicole Kidman’s close friends are worried the Oscar-winning actress is “working herself ragged” in fear of losing “the career she worked so hard for.”

Insiders close to Kidman recently shared their concerns with InTouch regarding Kidman’s erratic schedules and the toll her workaholism is taking on her family and life.

‘Nicole has been secretly struggling’

Insiders raised their concerns over the ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ actress and her equation with her husband of 17 years, Keith Urban. 

As Kidman went to Sydney to spend Christmas at their Australian farmhouse, Urban went to pick her up at the airport. The couple appeared happy and all loved up in front of the camera. 

However, friends close to the ‘Bombshell’ star feared it is not the truth. They said, "It was all very sweet and lovey-dovey — he even opened the car door for her," before adding, "but it definitely seemed a little bizarre, like they were putting on a show of unity and happiness for all of the cameras."

The insider added, "Nicole has been secretly struggling and doing her best to hide it," referring to her allegedly erratic social media posts, dramatic weight loss and altered countenance due to suspected plastic surgery.

‘Nicole has been working herself ragged’

The source revealed, "Everyone wants to know what's wrong with her. Even those close to her are concerned. The truth is, Nicole has been working herself ragged, and it's taking a toll.”

In the last two years, the actress has been part of five TV shows and three movies. The insider dished out, "She's been acting in projects nearly back-to-back while also doing advertisements and producing.”

They went on to share, "She even just took on the job as a Balenciaga brand ambassador, as if she didn't have enough on her plate."

Another source commented on her side gigs apart from acting. They said that she earns more than $1 million for appearing at private events for just a few hours.

However, the sources do not sound pleased with her side hustles, as they said, "The sheer frequency of these jobs seems to indicate she's desperate for easy cash.”

The actress has an estimated net worth of $250 million. Despite being such a successful star, the sources said she works “as if she fears she'll lose the career she worked so hard for," before adding, "She's shown no signs of slowing down."

Insider says Nicole Kidman ‘becomes a different person’ while working

Kidman, who is working harder than ever at 56 years of age, is still losing herself in her characters. The insider commented on her work dedication saying whenever she is absorbed in a role "something inside her just snaps and she becomes a different person.”

The insider further said, "And on top of dealing with all that public criticism, she's not giving herself enough time to recover from the constant strain of travel and long working hours.”

“She doesn't have the comforts of home and barely sees her family, which is difficult for her and could explain why she doesn't seem like herself,” explained the source.

However, on the positive side, it is the holiday season now and the star is expected to spend quality time with Urban, 56, and their two daughters Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13, along with her mother and sister.

They concluded, "They mean everything to her. Nicole is going to cherish this time and try to relax and re-center herself for the new year — before she pushes it too far."
