Ex-Trump aide reveals Secret Service was 'alarmed' by Natalie Harp's 'obsession' with Prez
WASHINGTON, DC: A former deputy press secretary from Trump’s White House just gave a pretty detailed look at what Natalie Harp actually does in the Trump circle. According to her, Harp’s obsession with Trump is so intense that it’s making the Secret Service uneasy. She’s not just an assistant; she’s basically the gatekeeper, deciding what information and content Trump sees.
Sarah Matthews, who worked with Harp during the 2020 campaign and later spoke out against the administration, shared all this on MS NOW with Nicolle Wallace. Matthews said Harp went from constantly messaging her, hoping to get closer to Trump, to ending up as one of his tightest confidants.
Matthews says Harp feeds Trump 'AI slop' and controls his social media
Matthews described Harp's current role as extending well beyond that of a traditional executive assistant, saying she functions as one of the president's information gatekeepers and has sole control over his social media accounts, a level of access Trump extends to very few people.
Sarah Matthews: I actually knew Natalie Harp. I worked on Trump's 2020 campaign. I remember her messaging me all the time and it was very obvious to me at that time that she wanted to be in Trump's orbit. pic.twitter.com/wY8ZcutKPb

“She is someone who has the ear of the president as she serves as an executive assistant for him, but also she is one of the gatekeepers of information for him and controls his social media.”
“So it shows the level of trust that he has in her, to me.”
“But we also have to highlight that because she has access to his social media, she is the one that’s feeding him some of these nasty things that he has posted.”
Matthews said that access has come with consequences, arguing that Harp uses the position to shape what Trump sees and posts.
“For example, I think of that racist video that he posted of the Obamas depicting them as monkeys that was reported to have come from Natalie Harp. So she’s feeding him AI slop.”
Matthews talks of Secret Service concerns
She added that Harp's primary function appears to be managing the president's emotional state rather than serving a traditional policy or communications role.
Harp spends her time “lavishing him with praise and feeding him positive tweets and news articles to boost his ego, and I think that’s why he keeps her so close, because she is this sycophant who is so obsessed with him that it alarms the Secret Service, but he just likes the way she makes him feel,” Matthews added.
Harp has now “risen the ranks to be one of his closest aides.”
“It was very obvious to me at that time that she wanted to be in the MAGA world and be in Trump’s orbit,” Matthews continued.
Lately, Harp grabbed headlines after CNN reported she dove into the trunk of a presidential motorcade SUV, right after a shouting match with staff who said there wasn't any space for her in the convoy. Reporters have called her the president's "human printer" because she's the one who brings him printouts of stuff he finds online and posts from social media.
