PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: The debate surrounding celebrity photo manipulation has reignited with former President Donald Trump's unexpected defense of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, amidst the firestorm over her doctored Mother's Day photograph.

In a surprising interview with Nigel Farage on GB News, Trump dismissed the controversy as insignificant, asserting that image editing is a common practice among celebrities and entertainers, as per New York Post.

As the royal family grapples with the fallout, Trump's intervention has added an intriguing political dimension to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Middleton's well-being and public image.

Trump expresses shock at intense backlash Kate Middleton faced

"That shouldn't be a big deal because everybody doctors," Trump stated, referring to the manipulation of Middleton's Mother's Day image.

He further emphasized that such practices are commonplace in the entertainment industry, drawing a parallel between celebrities and movie actors whose appearances often differ from their on-screen personas. "You see a movie actor and you meet them and you say, 'Is that the same person in the picture?'"

Trump expressed his shock at the intense backlash Middleton has faced over what he deemed a "very minor doctoring." He questioned the necessity for such an uproar, stating, "I don't understand why there could be such a howl over that. It's a rough period. They're really going after her."

Kate Middleton issued apology acknowledging experimentation with photo editing

The controversy erupted when Kensington Palace released a photograph of Middleton and her children to mark Mother's Day in the UK. Several news organizations swiftly pulled the image, citing concerns over extensive manipulation and doctoring.

Middleton later issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging her occasional experimentation with photo editing. "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused," she stated.

The incident further fueled speculation and scrutiny surrounding Middleton's health and whereabouts, as she had been out of the public eye since January, recovering from an unspecified abdominal surgery.

Internet agrees with Trump's stance on Kate Middleton's photoshop debacle

Trump's defense of Middleton has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many agreeing with his stance. One user on X voiced, "What’s the thing about the photos??? We are in 2024; everybody is touching up their pictures before putting it online. What’s wrong with that?" Echoing the sentiment, another user said, "Exactly, I'm using filters too."

In further support, a third user chimed in, "Oh ok, I agree with you on this." Meanwhile, a simple yet expressive GIF of Middleton clapping her hands appeared from another individual.

However, not all reactions were in agreement. A dissenting voice suggested, "This is just a distraction from the fact that she's sick or dead. She didn't doctor anything. As if they'd be editing their own photos or handling their own social media. They have teams for that."

Expressing exasperation, another remarked, "Okay, here we go again."
