WASHINGTON, DC: A video went viral on Wednesday, March 11, showing former President Bill Clinton appearing to stumble and bump into former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

As the clip went viral on social media, several internet users claimed Bill Clinton 'pushed' Hillary Clinton into the busy New York City road. But is there any truth to this claim? Let us find out below.

Claim: Bill Clinton 'pushed' Hillary Clinton into busy NYC road

The viral clip shows Bill and Hillary Clinton standing at a street intersection in New York City, and they seem relaxed in the video.

The video shows them standing on the roadside and laughing while talking. Bill Clinton is even seen clapping his hands at one point in the viral clip. Security staff are also seen close to the couple as they are standing near the road.

Further in the video, Bill Clinton can be seen walking up behind Hillary Clinton. He seems to stumble and accidentally bumps into her. The former First Lady then quickly raises her hands as if to steady herself. The former President then reaches out and holds her to help her regain balance.

Following this, several X users shared the viral moment and claimed that Bill Clinton 'pushed' his wife. An X user wrote, "Watch as Bill Clinton almost pushes Hillary into an intersection in NYC."

Similarly, another X user mentioned, "He saw his window of opportunity close before his eyes", while one wrote, "After all these years, he’s still at it."

Fact Check: False, no evidence to back the claim

The claims made in several X posts are not true. The viral clip itself suggests that Bill Clinton stumbled and then tried to steady Hillary Clinton after bumping into her. There is no clear evidence in the video that he deliberately pushed her toward the road.

Moreover, neither Bill Clinton nor Hillary Clinton issued any statement regarding the viral video. The viral incident took place after both Bill and Hillary Clinton appeared before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee.

The lawmakers questioned them about past links to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The former president and former First Lady answered questions as part of the committee’s probe into Epstein’s network and his connections with prominent individuals.

Interestingly, Bill Clinton has earlier acknowledged having a relationship with Epstein and traveling with him in the past. However, neither the former POTUS nor Hillary has been accused of misconduct related to Epstein.
