WASHINGTON, DC: In late December 2025, a rumor circulated online claiming that Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, promoted a sale on “Charlie Kirk dishware.”

The claim alleged that she made the promotion while criticizing her husband’s killer and anyone who disagreed with his political or religious views.

Erika Kirk became CEO of Turning Point USA in September 2025, just days after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at an event in Utah.

Claim: Erika Kirk promoted a sale on 'Charlie Kirk dishware'

On December 21, an X user posted, "Erika Kirk: 'To those who killed my husband…Charlie Kirk…and who wish to undo his righteous work…I say to them…you will NEVER be able to purchase this limited edition set of Charlie Kirk dishware for only $39.99 or, if you call now, only $24.99 WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.'"

The quote also spread on Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, and Instagram, with users presenting it as a real statement made by Erika Kirk.

Several posts reused the quote verbatim, while others slightly altered the wording but kept the same alleged message, contributing to its rapid spread across social media platforms.

Fact Check: Claim about Erika Kirk promoting Charlie Kirk dishware is false

According to a detailed fact check published by Snopes, there is no evidence that Erika Kirk ever promoted or endorsed a sale of “Charlie Kirk dishware.”

Users in comment sections acknowledged that the quote originated as a joke and was intended as satire. It was reportedly part of a broader wave of edited clips, fabricated quotes, and mock posts that circulated online following Charlie Kirk’s death.

The fake quote began gaining traction one day after Erika Kirk made a viral slip of the tongue during a public appearance. While honoring a student, she mistakenly referred to her late husband’s work as a “grift” instead of “grit,” a moment that critics quickly seized upon and shared widely online.

Snopes reported that it contacted Turning Point USA to ask whether the organization wished to comment on the circulating quote. The outlet also reached out to the X user who initially shared the post to determine whether the quote originated with that account or had been reposted from elsewhere.

On the same day the slip of the tongue went viral, Erika Kirk publicly pledged Turning Point USA’s support for Vice President JD Vance as a future presidential candidate. She stated that the organization would work toward electing him in the next election cycle.

Erika Kirk currently leads Turning Point USA as CEO. The organization, founded by her late husband, has played a significant role in mobilizing young conservative voters and supporting Donald Trump during the 2024 election.
