WASHINGTON, DC: According to a viral claim that began circulating following a tragic mass shooting in Sydney, Australia, in December 2025, Erika Kirk gave $1 million to Ahmed al-Ahmed, the man who tackled and disarmed one of the shooters.

As per the viral posts, Erika said of the man, "Ahmed did what Charlie always talked about — he chose people over fear." But is there any truth to this claim? Let us find out below.

Claim: Erika Kirk raised $1M for Bondi Beach 'hero' Ahmed al-Ahmed

A Facebook page, US Global Times, posted the claim with four different photos. One picture showed Erika and Charlie Kirk together, another one showed Erika, one showed al-Ahmed tackling the shooter, and the last image showed al-Ahmed in his hospital bed.

The post's caption read, "From a hospital bed still marked by g.u.n.s.h.o.t wounds, Ahmed al-Ahmed spoke softly to Erika Kirk about the moment that changed everything. He didn't call it bravery. He didn't call it sacrifice. He said he simply couldn't live with himself if he ran while others were in danger."

"Moved by his words, Erika announced the $1,000,000 honor from the Charlie Kirk Fund, saying the gift was never about reward — it was about recognition. 'Charlie believed courage like this should never be forgotten, never minimized, and never left to stand alone', she said. 'Ahmed did what Charlie always talked about — he chose people over fear,'" the caption added.

"Sh0t twice. Still healing. Still uncomfortable being called a hero. And yet, in that quiet hospital room, his humility said more than any speech ever could. What Ahmed told Erika next — and why this moment is restoring hope for so many — in the link below," the post concluded.

The claim was further shared by different Facebook users.

Searches on search engines, such as Google and Bing, showed no credible results from any reputable news outlet. If the rumor was true, several media houses would have covered this story.

Erika Kirk pledges to help elect JD Vance as president in 2028

Erika publicly endorsed Vice President JD Vance’s potential 2028 presidential campaign, and said she will work "in the most resounding way possible" to help him win and ensure Republican control of Congress.

She made the remarks during her speech at AmericaFest 2025, a major conservative gathering in Phoenix that drew thousands of supporters on Thursday, December 18. "We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible," the CEO of Turning Point USA said.

In addition to endorsing Vance, she talked about expanding TPUSA’s influence on college campuses in 2026 through initiatives designed to make debate and conservative engagement more appealing.

As per speculation, Vance may run for president in 2028, though he has not made a public announcement. Some observers believe a presidential bid would be a natural next step, given that he currently serves as vice president.
