WASHINGTON, DC: After her dismissal as US Attorney General, Pam Bondi has sparked a storm online. In April 2026, rumors circulated that she shared private images of President Donald Trump in retaliation. But how much of this is true? Let’s break down the facts.

Claim: Pam Bondi released private images of Trump

A rumor surfaced online in early April 2026, claiming that former US Attorney General Pam Bondi shared private images of President Donald Trump on Jeffrey Epstein’s island as retaliation for her dismissal.

Social media user Andy Borowitz, for instance, posted on April 4: “Seeking revenge for her abrupt termination, on Saturday, former Attorney General Pam Bondi released a trove of n***d photos of Donald J. Trump on Jeffrey Epstein's island.” The post, which also quoted Bondi as saying, “Oopsy, I guess I forgot to redact these,” garnered over 50,000 reactions on Facebook and quickly spread to X.

President Trump removed Bondi from her position on Thursday, April 2. In a post on Truth Social, he praised her service, writing, “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country.”

He added, “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much-needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.”

Fact Check: Claims about Pam Bondi’s revenge on Trump are debunked

Rumors that Pam Bondi shared private images of Trump spread widely, as people speculated about the reasons behind her dismissal. Many suggested that Trump removed her because she handled the Epstein investigation files, which the Department of Justice began releasing in late 2025 under growing pressure from lawmakers, especially given Trump’s connections to Epstein.

Some social media users treated the story about Bondi sharing images as if it were factual.

If Bondi had actually released any private images of Trump, major news outlets would have reported it, and searches on engines like DuckDuckGo, Bing, and Yahoo would have revealed evidence.

That did not happen. No credible sources confirm that Bondi released such images or made statements like, “Oopsy, I guess I forgot to redact these.” According to her X account, her only official statement after leaving the Department of Justice was on April 2, when she reaffirmed her support for Trump.

The rumor originated with The Borowitz Report, a satirical news site that parodies political events. Andy Borowitz first shared it on April 2. On the site’s About page, Borowitz notes that he has been writing satirical news since he was 18. His column ran in The New Yorker for 25 years before being discontinued in 2023 for financial reasons.
