WASILLA, ALASKA: President Donald Trump's rallies often draw large crowds and require tight security, with Secret Service agents closely watching the surroundings.

In October 2026, a video from Trump's rally in Wasilla, Alaska, went viral, with social media users claiming that agents nearly drew their guns to stop a man who approached the stage.

However, the footage has raised questions about what actually happened and whether the man posed a security threat. Let's fact-check the viral video.

Claim: Secret Service agents identified a threat during Trump's October 13 Wasilla rally

A video from Trump's October 13, 2026, rally in Alaska has been circulating online since October 15.

The footage shows Secret Service agents reacting as a man approaches the stage while Trump speaks at the podium. One agent appears to place his hand on his gun, while another emerges from behind the stage curtains.

The 34-second clip also shows an agent wearing a pink tie adjusting his position as the situation unfolds.

Matt Wallace shared the video on social media, where it quickly gained more than 25,000 likes and 7 million views. The footage has fueled online discussions about security at Trump's public appearances and previous security incidents.

Trump held the rally on October 13 at the Curtis D Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla, Alaska. He spoke in support of Republican candidates, including Senator Dan Sullivan and Representative Nick Begich, and endorsed gubernatorial candidate Bernadette Wilson. The venue can accommodate approximately 3,500 people.

Fact Check: Misleading

The claim is misleading. The video does not support the claim that the man “rushes up to warn Secret Service agents of a possible security threat.” The footage does not clearly show or capture what, if anything, the man said.

Media reports describe this interpretation as apparent or speculative, based largely on the captions circulating with the video. No official source has confirmed that the man warned agents of a threat or that they treated his approach as a security concern.

Many viewers interpret an agent’s hand movement toward his waist as an attempt to reach for a holstered weapon.

However, journalist Susan Crabtree, citing a source in the Secret Service community, reported that the agent was more likely adjusting the volume on his radio. The agents also appeared to adopt a more assertive posture, possibly in response to hecklers in the crowd.

However, no agent drew a gun. Although the footage shows a second agent emerging from behind the stage curtain, it does not establish that agents identified a threat, deemed it credible, or neutralized it. Trump continued speaking without interruption, and no weapons were drawn.

Neither the White House nor the Secret Service has publicly confirmed a security breach, a high-alert incident, or an actual threat linked to this specific moment.  The video is real and shows agents visibly reacting as a man approaches the stage during Trump's October 13 rally in Wasilla, Alaska.
