Fact Check: Did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dress up as GTA VI characters for Halloween?
LEAWOOD, KANSAS: Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated game, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI, a photo began circulating on social media platforms claiming to show popular singer Taylor Swift and her husband Travis Kelce dressed up as Jason and Lucia from the game for Halloween. The claim has sparked speculation among fans, prompting a fact-check.
Claim: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spotted wearing GTA VI outfit

The claim surfaced as a post on X, appearing to show the couple wearing bandana masks, a "BADDIE" hoodie, a graphic T-shirt, and walking amid paparazzi.
The post was accompanied by a caption stating, “Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dress up as Jason and Lucia from GTA 6 for Halloween.”
The post has been shared widely, garnering almost two million views as of this writing. Many fans believe the photos to be authentic, while a few others remain skeptical and have called for a fact-check.
Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

The claim, however, is false, as there are no reports of the couple appearing as the characters from the upcoming game for Halloween.
A reverse image search for the image yielded no credible photographs of the couple in the outfit released by prominent media outlets.
A search on either of the couple’s official social media handles also found no such image or any other recent image related to Halloween.
However, the search revealed that the viral image resembles a photograph of the couple taken in October 2024 and is credited to Getty Images.
Additionally, an analysis of the image using Artificial Intelligence detectors such as Hive Moderation revealed that the image is likely to be generated using AI.
Moreover, the image originated from a known parody account on X called ‘Hoops Crave,’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘satire.’
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's closely guarded wedding

Swift and Kelce got married on July 3 in a closely guarded ceremony at Madison Square Garden.
Reports suggest that Swift walked down an “extra-long aisle” to a string quartet rendition of her 2008 hit 'Love Story' before exchanging vows with Kelce.
According to a source, “Travis teared up more than Taylor. They shared very personal details and anecdotes that some guests had never even heard before.”
Additional details reveal that “Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime."
