WASHINGTON, DC: A social media post claims conservative commentator Tucker Carlson allegedly described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the president of the United States and President Donald Trump as the spotty Commander-in-Chief. The claim has sparked mockery and speculation, requiring a fact-check.

Claim: Tucker Carlson mocked Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu

The post has been amplified by several accounts on the platforms (@_InfoGram_/X)

The claim surfaced as a post on X, in which Carlson said, “Today I'm telling you the reality that Netanyahu is the president of the United States, and Trump is a ‘spotty’ Commander in Chief who announces a deal 58 times, and it never materializes.”

The post has been amplified by several accounts, collectively garnering tens of thousands of views as of this writing.

The comments suggest mixed reactions from users, with many agreeing with the former Fox News host, while others expressed skepticism and questioned the authenticity of the claim.

Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

Although Carlson has made headlines several times for his criticisms of Israel and its relationship with the US, there is no evidence of him describing Netanyahu as the US president and Trump as the spotty Commander-in-Chief.

There are no new statements, interviews, or social media posts from Carlson where he is heard making such a remark about the two leaders. If he had really made such a statement, credible news media outlets would have widely covered it, making headlines. A search on Google, Bing, and Yahoo for the claim also returned no such media reports, except for the social media posts amplifying the claim.

Additionally, the claim was posted by an X account called ‘InfoGram’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘satire.’

Donald Trump endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu

The claim surfaced after Trump extended his “complete and total endorsement” to Netanyahu, calling him a “Great Warrior,” days before the country’s election.

In a post on his Truth Social on October 18, Trump wrote that Netanyahu “WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

“Bibi Netanyahu has been Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition,” wrote Trump, “including that coming from even Israel, itself.”

“I have watched Bibi under the most trying of times,” Trump wrote. “Normal men or women in such situations would have wilted under the pressure — But Bibi did not wilt; he actually got stronger, and maintains that same Strength today. This is the kind of Partner that the United States of America is demanding of Israel, a Country for which it has done so much.”
