COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND:  A viral video shows Vice President JD Vance being blocked by UK protesters holding signs that read “Fascism + Terrorism: JD Vance Out.”

The footage, now circulating widely on TikTok and YouTube, appears to confirm the incident, which follows a wave of backlash during Vance’s July 2025 visit to Disneyland. At the time, hundreds of demonstrators heckled him, while he and his family vacationed in a quiet corner of the UK. So, is the viral video real?

In August 2025, video footage allegedly showing protesters in the UK blocking the motorcade of US Vice President JD Vance began circulating widely online.

One of the most viral clips, originally posted by TikTok user @hattier621, captured demonstrators holding signs that read, “Fascism = Terrorism. JD Vance Out.” The video quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok, while reposts on other platforms drew widespread attention.

On YouTube, the same footage appeared on the channel “Tiedrich,” amassing thousands of views despite having no description—just a title that read, “F yeah, the Cotswolds.”

Viewers flooded the comments, many believing the video to be authentic. One wrote, “I hope he had to turn around.” Another added, “I love it! ‘Shayme on YEWWW!’ Thank you for the love and support, UK!!” A third viewer joked, “I really needed to be cheered up today. 😂”

The video footage of the incident, showing JD Vance being blocked by protesters, has been verified as authentic, with multiple angles of the same protest appearing across various social media platforms

Among them were archived posts from the Instagram accounts of Sevenoaks for Palestine and the Stop Trump Coalition, two activist groups operating in the area.

When contacted for further comment, a spokesperson for the Stop Trump Coalition confirmed their involvement, “This action was organised by local residents and we supported it. It took place near to Chevening, where Vance stayed with the UK foreign secretary.”

In a video posted by Sevenoaks for Palestine, one protester spoke directly to the camera, “We're here today in solidarity with over 500 ordinary members of the public who very likely are going to be arrested under terrorism laws for simply holding a sign saying 'I support Palestine action and I oppose genocide.'"

The protestor added, "This is at the same time that David Lammy, the foreign secretary, is welcoming JD Vance, the vice president of the United States, to the UK, as a conquering hero."

Notably, on August 8, Vice President JD Vance joined UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy for a meeting that included a fishing trip. Just one day later, London police arrested 522 demonstrators protesting the UK government's decision to ban the activist group Palestine Action.

Sevenoks concluded, "This is while the US is Israel's number one ally and is expressing open support for Israel and its ongoing genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. So we're here to say, not in our name."

Although the TikTok user who originally uploaded the widely shared video remains unidentified, numerous photos and videos from the scene, including clear shots of the protest and the banner, have confirmed that the event did take place.
