According to a viral X post, Noah Schnapp has been cast as Robin in the sequel to the successful 2022 film, ‘The Batman.’

The rumor has spread across multiple platforms, including Facebook, X, and Instagram, garnering millions of views, with the comments section indicating conflicting reactions from fans. Many expressed excitement over the alleged casting, while others disagreed.

Meanwhile, a few others remained skeptical and questioned the authenticity of the viral claim and called for a fact check.

Fact Check: The claim originated as satire

The claim, however, is false, as there is official confirmation that the 21-year-old actor has been cast as the sidekick to the iconic superhero.

There is also no official confirmation from DC Studios or director Matt Reeves about the ‘Stranger Things’ actor being cast in the role.

A Google search for the claim returned no credible reports by prominent entertainment media outlets that support the claim.

The post was accompanied by a link to an interview with the film’s director, but he made no mention of Schnapp.

According to the interviews, when asked about Robin, Reeves said, “Well, sure, you talk about everything. There is probably not any character that we didn’t talk about. What could this be? What could that be? That’s part of the beginning of anything.”

Moreover, ‘Discussing Fraud,’ the X account that posted the claim, describes itself in the bio as a parody account, not affiliated with ‘Discussing Films.’

Additionally, the film’s producer and DC Studios’ co-CEO, James Gunn, debunked rumors about the character’s appearance in the film a year ago.

“Guys please stop believing this nonsense,” the DC head said in a post on Threads. “I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about the Batman 2.”

The sequel to ‘The Batman’ was announced in 2022, with Robert Pattinson reprising his role as the Batman. According to reports, part two focuses more on  Bruce Wayne, the alter ego of Batman.
