WASHINGTON, DC: A rumor began circulating online in October 2025 featuring a video of a pregnant woman expressing regret over voting for Donald Trump.

According to the claims, the woman, nearing childbirth, was advised to move states in case she might need an abortion later in her pregnancy. But is the story true? Did she really express regret? Here’s what the facts reveal.

In October 2025, a video went viral showing a pregnant Texas woman in tears as she explained that her doctor had advised her to leave the state due to complications with her high-risk pregnancy.

Although she identified as anti-abortion, her doctor warned she might require an abortion later in the pregnancy, a procedure prohibited under Texas law.

She said, “We were monitoring this baby closely, but if the baby’s heart rate slows down, if we think the baby’s life is at risk, you could die.”

While weeping, she continued, “The reason is because in this state, you are not allowed to operate on a woman who loses the baby.” She later added, “All my life, I believed late-term abortion meant someone choosing not to have their baby. That’s not allowed in Texas, obviously, because I voted for Trump and for Greg Abbott.”

In the video, she admitted, “I’m starting to regret the way I voted, the way I’ve been thinking, and honestly I’m scared for my life.” She also revealed that she had never known doctors sometimes perform late-term abortions to save a mother’s life.

Online reactions quickly followed. A Reddit post from October 9 described her as a “confused victim of MAGA disinformation,” referencing President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement.

Many viewers appeared to take the video as a real account, interpreting her emotional testimony as evidence of the personal toll of strict abortion laws. An X user wrote, “This big dummy is slowly realizing that she voted against her reproductive rights by voting for Republicans."

Although the viral video appeared to show a pregnant woman expressing regret over voting for Donald Trump due to Texas’s strict abortion laws, the clip did not depict a real-life event. It originated as a piece of satire.

The video was first posted by the TikTok account @pamelawurstvetrini, which explicitly labels its content as humorous or satirical.

The original post included hashtags such as #satire, #engagebait, and #skit, signaling its fictional nature. The caption also mentioned that proceeds from the video would be donated to Planned Parenthood, a nonprofit that provides reproductive health services and advocates for abortion access.

In a follow-up TikTok video titled “Engage Bait: The facts are real, the stories are not,” creator Pamela Wurst Vetrini clarified her intent.

While she opposes the MAGA movement, she said she creates such content to spark dialogue with Trump supporters and “cross the bridge” between political divides.

Vetrini has produced several similar videos on different topics, often portraying a character who supported Trump but later questioned policies like abortion bans in states such as Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Tennessee.
