The 'Poor Things' actress debuted her new pixie cut as she went out for the 2025 Golden Globes after fans conjectured that the actress received a major chop for her most recent appearance in Yorgos Lanthimos' film 'Bugonia,' noted People.

Stone wore a strapless scarlet gown with a satin bow to match the red carpet and her bold new appearance was balanced with minimal makeup but her short pixie cut, which featured the tiny growth from shaving her head lately, was the center of attention.

Her longtime hairdresser and OLAPLEX Global Ambassador, Tracey Cunningham, told Page Six that Mia Farrow is the inspiration behind Stone's new hairstyle.

"She basically has no hair. It’s super short, and she’s going to have it cut again, so it’ll be even shorter," Cunningham said, describing Stone's hair color as auburn, which is a "smidge" darker than her typical shade.

Stone filmed Yorgos Lanthimos feature 'Bugonia,' which will be released in 2025, before making her pixie debut. Because Stone frequently wore tight beanies and wigs, there have been rumors over the past few months that she had a dramatic hair makeover.

Fans speculated that Stone had actually chopped off all of her hair for the role because she was wearing a hat in all of the pictures that were posted online back in October while she was in New York filming 'Bugonia.'

As it turned out, the actress had actually shaved her head for the part in 'Bugonia,' which is why she had to hide under wigs and hats.

Stone loves to switch up her hairstyle. She even had her co-star Joe Alwyn cut it for the movie 'Kinds of Kindness.' The cast was asked what people would be surprised to learn about Stone in a video that was released to People earlier this year.

"She is also trustworthy. I cut her hair, which just means cutting off her ponytail, but even so!" Alwyn said.
