Fans extend congratulations as Ginger Zee marks decade as 'GMA's chief meteorologist

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ginger Zee recently achieved a significant milestone in her career. At 42, she has now held the position of Chief Meteorologist on 'Good Morning America' for a decade, much to the delight of her fans.

Zee recently took to Instagram to announce that she had completed a decade at ‘GMA’ at the helm of its climate reporting division. 

She posted an extensive video showcasing the highlights of her journey over the years. The montage included testimonials from colleagues and other important figures in her life.

The ‘GMA’ star shared a nearly eight-minute clip to honor the legacy of her past decade at the morning show.

After joining ABC News in 2011, Zee became the Chief Meteorologist in 2013 when former weatherman Sam Champion left to pursue other career plans.

Since then, Zee has been the bedrock of climate reporting at ‘GMA’ and has covered hurricanes, snowstorms, and earthquakes extensively during her tenure.

She has even interviewed former President of the United States, Barack Obama among other prominent figures, and has been an active voice in the realm of climate change.

At the beginning of the clip shared by Zee, the veteran journalist can be seen sitting among other ‘GMA’ stars who confirm her role as the Chief Meteorologist.

The clip then showcases some of Zee’s clips from on-ground reporting and features testimonials of her bravery and skills from people who helped achieve her goal.

Zee thanked them all in the caption and wrote, “Tomorrow marks 10 years since I officially became chief meteorologist at ABC News (I honestly didn’t realize it was this date - until my friend @producerrob sent me this video as a celebration gift)— 12 years in total here at @abcnews, it’s a ride that’s beyond my wildest dreams.”

She continued, “The gratitude is oozing out of me today and every day as we keep growing this ultimate weather and now climate team."
