NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Samantha Diaz, better known by their stage name Just Sam, recently experienced a shocking "unprovoked attack" while performing at a New York City subway station.

Just Sam thanks everyone for having their back during 'unprovoked attack'

The footage shared on Instagram shows Just Sam attempting to maintain composure while a passerby confronts them.

After telling the woman to "back up," Just Sam continued their performance, with supportive onlookers encouraging them not to let the incident stop them, shouting, "Keep going, don't let that stop you."

Just Sam captioned the clip, "I can’t believe this even happened."

Reflecting on the incident, Just Sam told their followers, "The woman in the video attacked me and my sister unprovoked... NOTHING like this has EVER happened to me before in all my many years of singing underground."

Despite the scary situation, they reassured fans, saying, "We are okay and we are always safe. I never ever go to the trains alone. Thank you to everyone for having my back. We are great. God is always protecting us."

This isn't the only hardship Just Sam has faced recently.

Just Sam's dog was recently killed by a reckless driver

Last month, the singer shared the heartbreaking news of their dog Jaxson’s tragic death in an emotional video. Just Sam's beloved pitbull terrier was reportedly killed by a "reckless driver."

In the tearful post, they urged others to "cherish your dogs," emphasizing how quickly Jaxson’s life was taken.

Between sobs, they said, "It took a couple of seconds for a reckless driver to take my dog's life."

In the caption, Just Sam expressed their heartbreak, writing, "My heart is broken," and condemned the driver, who allegedly failed to slow down or brake to avoid the dog.

Just Sam even questioned whether the driver was "speeding and possibly under the influence," adding that Jaxson’s death "almost doesn't feel like an accident."

"What if my dog was my child??" continued the singer, frustrated at the lack of accountability from the driver. "Lord!! I just hate that this happened."

The winner of 'American Idol' Season 18 made headlines last year after revealing that they had to return to busking for money in New York City's subways.

Fans laud Just Sam for 'being the example'

Just Sam's followers took to the comments section of the video to show their support.

One expressed, "That you can have a bozo disrupt your vibe and then bounce back and blow like that is so e authentic Black Girl Magic!"

Another shared, "Love you, Sam! You’re always the bigger person. Thank you for being the example. Never allow anyone to dim your bright light!!"

A person pointed out, "When the enemy sends distractions, that's how you know you're doing something right!" "I don't understand. What happened? Why would she do that? I'm so glad you turned your focus back on that amazing voice!" noted a follower.

One comment read, "Don't stop singing boo keep it going 💪👏👏🙏🙏🩷🩷🩷God gotcha."
