LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tim Allen opened up on his emotions despite being at a high point in both his personal and professional life.
The 71-year-old actor took to X on Wednesday, February 26, to share that he woke up with an unexplained sense of sadness.
So many blessings in my life yet woke up with profound sense of sadness, no explanation just sat and felt sadness. To experience sad is necessary to experience happiness one imagines.

Tim Allen recalls doubts about returning to television
Despite his long-standing career, Tim Allen admitted that he initially hesitated before joining 'Shifting Gears.'
Reflecting on his decision, Allen said, "It was a complicated decision. I was doing Disney+’s Santa Claus series at the time and I said, 'I really can’t think about this now'."
He also spoke about whether he wanted to return to network TV as he said, "I was so depressed at how streaming has hurt television. So if I did it, I want to elevate it," according to Us Weekly.
Allen wanted his new character to stand out from his previous roles. He said, "I’ve done Mike Baxter [on Last Man Standing] and Tim Taylor [on Home Improvement]. So if I do this again, I pitched three things: I want a guy that lost his wife recently, so he’s dealing with grief; I want a guy with the family that doesn’t get along; And then he has a custom car shop."

A user pointed out the effect of seasonal changes, writing, "You have helped so many find their way into laughter. I hope you find that for yourself very soon. But, yes, feeling sad for no reason really does happen…especially at this time of year. Seasonal sadness. So when spring comes in a few weeks, your soul naturally reacts to the rebirth of nature."
