'He deserves better': Fans show support as 'General Hospital' star Steve Burton settles divorce with Sheree Gustin
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Soap opera star Steve Burton’s divorce from his estranged wife Sheree (Gustin) Burton was finalized on Wednesday, December 27, after he filed it in July 2022.
The ‘General Hospital’ star and his pro-fitness ex-wife agreed to joint physical and legal custody of their two minor children - Jack, 17, and Brooklyn, 9. The former couple are also parents to their adult child Makena, 20.

As per the divorce settlement, Burton is required to pay Sheree $12,500 per month for child support, $10,000 for Brooklyn and $2,500 for Jack.
However, after his son Jack turns 18 in March 2024, Burton needs to pay $10,000 for his youngest daughter Brooklyn until she turns 18.
Per People, both Burton and Sheree have waived their right to spousal support "now or at any time in the future, regardless of the unforeseen circumstances that may exist in the future".
Nevertheless, Sheree would be receiving $50,000 as retroactive support from Burton which he would be paying in $2,500-per-month installments, per TMZ.

Steve Burton and Sheree Gustin's road to divorce
Burton and Sheree married in 1999 after meeting on the sets of 'General Hospital'. After more than two decades of marriage, the 'Days of Our Lives' star filed for divorce at the Orange County Superior Court on July 7, 2022, citing irreconciliable diferences.
He listed the date of separation as March 1, 2022. In his filing, Burton asked for joint physical and legal custody of their two minor children.
Two months prior to the divorce filing, Burton announced their separation via an Instagram story in May 2022. During the time of filing, Sheree was pregnant and the 53-year-old actor clarified he was not the father of the child.
The nutrition and mindset coach wrote on his Instagram Story, "I wanted to clear something up," before adding, "Sheree and I are separated."
He went on to share, "She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve."
In October 2023, Sheree announced she is expecting her fifth child.

As the news of Steve Burton finalizing his divorce with his ex-wife went viral, fans poured in their support for the 'General Hospital' star. Some of them even called out the judgment of his wife getting paid a hefty sum of money.
One of the fand declared on Facebook, "He deserves better!! I wish Steve the best. Miss him on GH!! Wish he would come back."
Someone else added, "I feel so bad for him. I know he must be devastated. I hope he comes back to General hospital."
