LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The highly anticipated return of 'Stranger Things' for its fifth and final season has stirred excitement among fans as production gears up to commence in early January, marking the end of a seven-month hiatus caused by industry strikes, according to Variety.

However, amid the anticipation, controversy brews with fervent online demands for the axing of Noah Schnapp, who portrays Will Byers in the acclaimed Netflix series.

'Stranger Things' season 5 teases a colossal cinematic narrative rivaling major blockbusters

Creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer delayed production amid the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA strikes, emphasizing the integral role of ongoing script development.

Addressing the intricate process, Matt highlighted the fluidity of scripts during filming, involving constant revisions in dialogue, scene setups, and location adjustments.

Despite the hiatus, the Duffer brothers hinted at progressing location scouting for Season 5 before the work stoppage, affirming the series' evolving nature.

The upcoming season promises the return of the entire original cast, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and more.

Joining the ensemble is renowned 'Terminator' star, Linda Hamilton, while director Dan Trachtenberg, recognized for 'Prey' and '10 Cloverfield Lane,' is set to helm at least one episode alongside the Duffers and Shawn Levy, who serves as an executive producer.

In earlier statements, Levy teased Season 5 as a colossal cinematic narrative, asserting its scale to rival major blockbuster films.

Harbor, in a podcast interview, hinted at the series' emotional and ambitious conclusion, suggesting monumental set pieces and script elements surpassing previous seasons.

Noah Schnapp's off-screen actions spark outrage on social media

However, amidst the excitement for the show's return, online platforms buzzed with fervent calls for the removal of Schnapp from the series. Social media erupted with users expressing dissatisfaction and boycotting intentions due to Schnapp's recent off-screen actions.

Following Schnapp's appearance in a video where he was seen laughing and filming individuals holding controversial stickers, sentiments against him surfaced online. The stickers with the messages 'Zionism Is Sexy' and 'Hamas Is Isis' sparked outrage and prompted some users to demand Schnapp's removal from the series.

Despite Schnapp's Jewish background and previous vocal support for Israel, his association with the controversial video stirred significant backlash amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza. His stance in the aftermath of the Hamas attack on October 7, which resulted in substantial casualties on both sides, fueled the controversy further.
