Feds storm Sean 'Diddy' Combs' cell, lawyers slam 'outrageous' conduct expressing 'grave concern'
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Sean "Diddy" Combs' jail cell was reportedly raided by federal officials who seized his handwritten notes to his legal team which his lawyers all “absolutely privileged.”
Combs' legal team discovered on Friday, November 15, that prosecutors had obtained attorney-client privileged materials taken from his cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, reported TMZ.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' lawyers say seized material contains defense strategies
Sean "Diddy" Combs' attorney Marc Agnifilo claims the material contained the music mogul's handwritten notes to his legal team that concern his defense witnesses and defense strategies for his upcoming trial in May.
His lawyer said that the feds have admitted to them that they possess the notes recovered from Combs' cell.
They claim the search and seizure violates Combs' Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights.
The raid comes after prosecutors accused Combs of violating prison rules, paying off witnesses, and enlisting his children in a "public relations campaign," to influence potential jurors, which included the celebration of his 55th birthday.

“The targeted seizure of a pre-trial detainee’s work product and privileged materials – created in preparation for trial – is outrageous government conduct amounting to a substantive due process violation," Agnifilo penned further in the legal documents.
Sean 'Diddy' Comb's lawyers ask for an immediate hearing on the feds' seizure of his cell material
In the legal documents, attorneys for Sean "Diddy" Combs have requested that Judge Arun Subramanian conduct an immediate hearing on the fed raid.
They want to question them about the search and seizures and inquire about how and why the event transpired.
“Who authorized a search of Mr Combs’ sleeping area, personal effects and paperwork?” Agnifilo has asked in the filing as per the publication.
“Who made the decision to not tell Mr Combs’ counsel that the US Attorney was in possession of his notes, including ‘possibly privileged materials’ until after the government put them in a filing to keep him incarcerated?” they wrote.
“This is a matter of grave concern that, most respectfully, must be addressed immediately,” Agnifilo stated.
They have expressed concerns that the documents have been handed over to prosecutors.
“Because the US Attorney, and it seems the trial prosecutors, are currently in possession of privileged materials we request a full evidentiary hearing as soon as the Court can accommodate us," Combs' lawyer requested.
