LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rapper Killer Mike has addressed his arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards, but his response has stirred controversy online. Some internet users are criticizing him for appearing arrogant in his remarks.

Mike has been in the spotlight since the Grammys. Most recently, he caused a stir by surprising comedian Bill Maher during one of his episodes. He shocked Maher by refusing to endorse President Joe Biden over Donald Trump for the upcoming presidential election.

Despite repeated questioning from Maher, the rapper skillfully avoided revealing his favored candidate and outlined specific conditions under which he might consider supporting the current president.

Killer Mike asserts he will 'ultimately be cleared' following his arrest at Grammys

Mike was arrested after winning Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance for 'Scientist & Engineers,' and Best Rap Album for 'Michael' during the pre-telecast ceremony.

In a video that was posted on X, the rapper was observed being escorted out of Crypto.com Arena by officers from the LAPD.

On Sunday night, LAPD confirmed to People Magazine that Mike was arrested after being detained and handcuffed for a physical altercation at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court. He was taken to LAPD Central Division.

Releasing a statement on his arrest with People, Mike conveyed, "As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter."

Further conveying, Mike stated, "We experienced an over-zealous security guard but my team and I have the utmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing. Until that time, keep listening to Michael, and keep going after your dreams"

According to People, Mike shared that he and his team received "several calls from worried fans and colleagues, checking in on my well-being." In response, Mike expressed gratitude for the concern and support, affirming, "I'm doing more than just fine."

According to People, in addition to expressing gratitude to the Grammys for his awards, he revealed that he had another significant victory after the ceremony.

The statement read, "We are incredibly proud and are basking in this moment. I am also grateful that one of my prayers has been answered – the day after my Grammy win – I learned that my son, who has been on the list for a kidney for years, finally has a match. Obviously, we are elated."

Recently, TMZ went on to ask Mike's producer, C.N.O.T.E, about his arrest and Grammy wins. As the TMZ reporter approached C.N.O.T.E, they began by saying, "There was a crazy moment, he got hemmed up for some BS. It seems like, with some security guards. People are wondering does that overshadow such a monumental moment for a guy who's worked so hard."

Replying to the TMZ reporter, C.N.O.T.E stated, "You know, with Mike man, he said that's the third best thing that happened to him that day," seemingly indicating that the arrest doesn't matter much with Mike's Grammy wins.
