Ross Lynch confirms marriage, says his wife isn't 'very fond of celebrity'
Lynch confirmed his marriage at the premiere of ‘Heartland’ on Thursday, November 5, after being spotted wearing a gold wedding band. When asked by PEOPLE whether he was married, the actor responded, “Yes, yes I am.”
The ‘Teen Beach Movie’ star further explained that he was not deliberately trying to hide his marriage but wanted to be considerate of his wife's preferences. “I’m not trying to shy away from that by any means, but I am trying to, you know, my wife’s not very fond of celebrity,” he said. “So I am trying to be sensitive towards that and respectful to her. But everything’s going well.”
Lynch did not disclose his wife's name or reveal when the couple got married.
The announcement comes after Lynch returned to social media in June following a yearlong break. He shared several photographs showing himself writing and playing music, baking sourdough and spending time outdoors. “Been a minute, what did I miss?” he captioned the first photograph.
Since returning to social media, Lynch has continued sharing glimpses of his life while keeping his relationship private. In September, he appeared on the cover of Xmag and discussed his return to acting after taking a brief hiatus.
During his recent conversation with PEOPLE, he also reflected on prioritizing his personal life. “I’ve been focusing a lot on my private life recently, which has been feeling really gratifying. I’m definitely excited about the future prospects and we’ll see how it unfolds,” Lynch said.

Ross Lynch returns to acting opposite Jessica Chastain in ‘Heartland’
Lynch is also returning to acting with Netflix's ‘Heartland’, marking his first acting project since appearing in ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ in 2020. His appearance as the leading man in Troye Sivan’s ‘Look at You’ music video in 2023 was another on-screen outing during his break.
Best known for playing a starring role in Disney Channel's ‘Austin & Ally’ from 2011 to 2016, Lynch appears opposite Jessica Chastain in ‘Heartland’. He plays Jace Jacobs, whom he described to PEOPLE as a “lost soul” fascinated by fame.
The film follows former country star Misty Jones, played by Chastain, who leaves her secluded life to search for her missing niece, an emerging musician, in Nashville. Her investigation uncovers dark secrets and forces her to confront her own past.

Lynch also spoke about his experience working with Chastain, admitting that returning to acting after a long break initially took some adjustment. “Working with Jessica was funny because, you know, it’s been a while for me being acting,” he told PEOPLE.
He added that once he started getting comfortable on set, Chastain would give him a reassuring nod of approval. “I was excited to be acting again for sure,” Lynch said on Thursday. “It was nice to be on set.” In recent years, Lynch has also been concentrating on music with his brother Rocky Lynch and their band, The Driver Era.
