Dimitri Simes claims FBI raid was 'an attempt to intimidate'
Dimitri Simes said, "I’m puzzled and concerned. I have not seen a warrant. I was not contacted by any law enforcement or anyone else whatsoever."
Simes informed the Russian government-owned Sputnik News, "The raid clearly is an attempt to intimidate, not only somebody from Russia but just anyone who goes against official policies and particularly against the deep state."
He added, "My suspicion is that instead of trying to get me to come to the United States and to interrogate me — or even to arrest me — their real purpose is to make sure that I would not come back."
Simes further compared the raid to law enforcement crackdowns on Trump and other political figures connected to him, including former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Simes' son, Dimitri Simes Jr, told Sputnik News that his father has not been in the US since October 2022. He posted on X, "The Biden regime is terrified of being called out over Ukraine and Israel."

That’s why they’re moving full-press to intimidate any American citizens who dare to speak out.
Unfortunately for them, their scare tactics aren’t impressing anyone. https://t.co/YS1Mdwrbdu
He wrote in another post, "Elements of Biden regime are trying to disrupt any possibility for deescalation with Russia and plunge America into World War III."
Important message.

This is the main reason they decided to go after my father.
