NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Mark Levin on Monday, March 23, accused Democrats of undermining US national security institutions, invoking the legacy of the 9/11 attacks of 2001 in a sharply worded video posted on X.

In the post, Levin said, “From 9/11 to today, how did we get here?” before alleging that Democrats were targeting agencies responsible for security and law enforcement.

Mark Levin thunders down on Democrats over national security

Levin said, “The Democrats would be so low as to basically pretend 9/11 never happened and to treat our airport and aircraft security this way. Just think about this. They go after the local cops. They go after the federal cops. They're going after the TSA. They're going after ICE and the Border Patrol. This is a very destructive party.”

He escalated his criticism by framing the issue as existential rather than political. “This is no more a debate about policy issues. This is a debate over the survivability of this nation,” he said.

He also warned that Democratic electoral gains could lead to sweeping institutional changes, including eliminating the Senate filibuster, expanding the Supreme Court, and altering the Electoral College system.

“There is going to be a big problem should they win the Senate. And one day they're going to win the Senate because they will get rid of the filibuster rule," he added.

"They will change the Supreme Court by adding seats and turning it into a Politburo. They will change the way that we vote. They're going to try and change the Electoral College to a popular vote,” he said.

He then predicted, "They're going to do everything they can to fundamentally alter this country."

DHS funding fight and TSA strain in focus

Levin’s remarks came amid a prolonged funding standoff over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), driven in part by the Democratic Party's demands for changes to immigration enforcement, including increased oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

At the same time, the funding lapse has strained airport security operations. Thousands of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers have been working without pay, contributing to rising absenteeism and staffing shortages.

Recent reports have shown that absentee rates have surged during the shutdown, with some airports experiencing severe disruptions and hours-long security lines.

In response, ICE agents have been deployed to assist with crowd management at airports, though officials say they are not performing screening duties.
