NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Mark Levin called Donald Trump "a man of faith" during an interview with the GOP presidential nominee on Sunday, September 1.

The interview aired on Levin's show 'Life, Liberty and Levin' where Donald Trump discussed his belief in God and his vision for the United States.

Donald Trump's faith and commitment to God

During the interview, Levin acknowledged Trump's religious devotion, saying, "You have been a man of faith. You go to church. You believe in god. Has this further your belief, your commitment?"

The former president responded by affirming his faith and claimed that God believes he will "straighten out" the country, particularly following a recent assassination attempt against him.

Donald Trump's view on faith after assassination attempt

The assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, which killed one of Donald Trump's supporters and injured two others, has strengthened Trump's commitment to his faith.

Levin asked the 78-year-old politician if the horrifying incident has deepened his connection to God.

Trump replied that he believes God wants him back in the White House because the "country is just broken.”

"Well, I think you believe more because when you speak to experts like my sons who are shooting experts. But when you speak to experts, they said there was no chance that he could have missed from that distance," said Trump.

Speaking about the failed assassination attempt, the Republican presidential nominee said, "I think he was hurried. I think it was rushed because people were starting to say like, you know, there’s a guy up there with a gun. And I think he was probably rushed."

"But, no, I think if you believed in God, you believe in God more. And somebody said like, why? And I’d like to think that God thinks that I’m going to straighten out our country," he added.

He also expressed concerns over the current state of the nation, describing it as "sick" and "broken."

"Our country is so sick and it’s so broken. Our country is just broken. And maybe that was the reason. I don’t know," Trump concluded, reported Mediaite.

Internet slams Mark Levin calling Donald Trump 'a man of faith'

After Mark Levin called Donald Trump "a man of faith" during the Fox News interview, netizens slammed the broadcast news analyst's opinion.

One user on X wrote, "Levin has a church confused with a golf course," and another tweeted, "Do you all think Levin was praying that he himself wouldn't burst into flames as he was reading these questions?"

"Has Mark Levin ever met Trump before, or is he just summoning the Trump he wants there to be," a netizen remarked. Someone commented, "@marklevinshow you’ve got to be kidding me. A man of faith?" and another wrote, "Man of faith, go to church, even his interviewer lies."

"Mark Levin is trash," an individual opined. Another penned, "Where is that question? At the end? The whole “you have been a man of faith”, “you go to church” , “ you believe in god” is not stated as question but as a statement. That is not an interview of everything stated as “this” is a conclusion."

Another commented, "Is this a parody?"
