LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Frank Fritz, beloved star of 'American Pickers', died at the age of 58, two years after suffering a stroke.

The news was confirmed by his former co-host and friend Mike Wolfe on Instagram, who paid a heartfelt tribute to his longtime companion on Tuesday, October 1.

Mike Wolfe’s emotional tribute to Frank Fritz

Mike Wolfe, 60, shared the news of Frank Fritz’s death with fans, revealing that Fritz died on Monday, September 30.

“It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night,” he began his Instagram post.

Describing Fritz as a “dreamer” who was both “sensitive and funny,” Wolfe reflected on their time together on 'American Pickers.'

“Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures,” wrote Wolfe.

Reminiscing their old days, he wrote, "We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home."

"I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place," Wolfe concluded the post.

Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe's friendship rekindled

While Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe had endured ups and downs in their friendship, including a two-year period of no communication, the duo had reconnected.

When Fritz suffered a stroke in 2022, it was Wolfe who shared the news with their fans, asking for prayers and support for his friend battling with the health issue.

“Frank has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts,” he wrote at the time.

In a statement relased following Fritz's death, his manager Bill Stankey called Fritz “an exceptional human being” who had an unmatched knowledge of Americana and antiques.

“He was the anchor of 'American Pickers.' He will be missed by his friends, family, and fans,” said Stankey, according to People.

Following the announcement of Frank Fritz's death, netizens paid tribute to their beloved reality show star.

One fan on X wrote, "Rest in Peace Frank Fritz from American Pickers I always loved watching that show with my parents." Another tweeted, "wow american pickers would have never been what it was with out frank. RIP big guy."
