LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Frankie Beverly, the legendary R&B singer died at the age of 77, his family announced on his official Instagram handle on Wednesday, September 11.

Frankie Beverly, whose real name was Howard Stanley Beverly, died on September 10, according to the post.

How did Frankie Beverly die?

Frankie Beverly's family has not yet released any details regarding the cause of his death.

In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, the singer's family expressed their need for privacy as they navigate this challenging time.

"Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional experience," read the post, according to People.

Expressing their appreciation for the public’s respect, they wrote, "During this time, as we are navigating feelings of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance we kindly ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way."
