LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood couple Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar have successfully managed to keep their relationship away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi even after being married for more than 20 years.

Appearing on Brian Austin Green's podcast 'Oldish' on Monday, November 4, Prinze shared how he managed this feat with his wife, insisting that they had remained out of the spotlight "by choice".

Along with Green, co-hosts Sharna Burgess and Randy Spelling also chatted with Prinze, reported People.

How Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar manage to stay away from the spotlight

Co-host Randy Spelling told Freddie Prinze Jr on the podcast, "Something that I've admired about your relationship is you both have seemed to stay out of the public."

The 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' star replied, "That's by choice, though. You can control it to a certain degree."

It is seemingly "very hard for a lot of people" to have that kind of control, argued Spelling. "How intentional do you have to be to do that?"

"I don't know how deliberate (others) are in trying to avoid that BS," said Prinze. "I know how easy it's been for us because I don't go anywhere. I don't go to parties."

"People don't see Sarah and I out and about at the popular places. We have our restaurants that we like, and they're not super trendy in places where paparazzi hang out. So we're good at avoiding it."

He clarified that he was "not trying to s**t on anyone" by saying that avoiding attention is "not that hard" if one is determined about it.

Explaining how he makes the best of the circumstances in this regard, Prinze said, "There's times where (paparazzi) wait at the bottom of our street, but there's people that are way more famous than me on my street. So I'll just make sure they leave first. They'll go follow Schwarzenegger and leave me alone. You know what I mean?"

"There's no secret to it, and it wasn't hard," he added. "We just don't like that life. You know?"
