WASHINGTON, DC: Representative Nancy Mace has split from her entrepreneur fiancé Patrick Byrant after being engaged for nearly 18 months, reported Daily Mail.

The former couple is reportedly considering taking legal action to claim rights over the multi-million-dollar homes they purchased together.

The South Carolina lawmaker's breakup reports come after she gained attention for two recent incidents -wearing a scarlet letter shirt after voting against Kevin McCarthy in October and facing allegations of discussing her sex life in her Capitol office in front of her junior staffers, which made some of them quit.

Nancy Mace expected to take legal action

Mace, the 46-year-old mother-of-two, and software mogul Bryant, got engaged in 2022 after two years of dating.

The breakup turned more serious as both claimed rights on the $3.9 million beachfront property with six bedrooms and a pool, and another property in Washinton, DC, worth $1.3 million. Public records show neither of them has filed a lawsuit yet, but sources told Daily Mail that the Republican lawmaker is expected to take legal action to claim the houses.

"I'm not Taylor Swift. No one gives a damn about my relationship status," was Mace's response to Daily Mail when asked about the dispute with ex-fiance.

Nancy Mace's troubles continue

Mace's latest problem comes amidst six staffers in her Capitol Hill office resigning, accusing her of running a 'toxic' office.

Three sources revealed to Daily Mail that the lawmaker often openly talked about her sex life in the office, even in front of the male staffers. "She frequently made sexual references in the office and discussed things that were not appropriate in a work environment," said one former senior staffer to the portal.

Mace could face an ethics investigation if one of her staffers officially files a complaint.

Months before this, Mace also made headlines for wearing a scarlet letter shirt with a bright red 'A' written after she voted to oust Kevin McCarthy from the House Speaker position. She was only one of the eight Republicans in the House who voted against McCarthy.

According to her, the attire was a statement. "I'm wearing the scarlet letter after the week that I just had last week, being a woman up here and being demonized for my vote, and for my voice," she told the media at the time.

Internet not surprised about Nancy Mace's breakup

Following the reports of Mace's split from Bryant, social media users are not so surprised that it happened.

One user said, "Okay who did not-see this coming?"

Another user asked, "Why is this not shocking anymore?"

"Color me unsurprised," read another reaction.

A fourth user shared a meme that said, "SHOCKED."

"It was only a matter of time...." said one user.
