G Flip makes history as highest-charting non-binary artist on 2023 Triple J Hottest Chart, with Doja Cat securing top spot

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: G Flip went on to become the highest-placing non-binary artist in the countdown’s history with the 2023 Triple J Hottest chart release.

The 30-year-old broke many records as 7 of the tracks were listed on the 100 Hottest Chart, reports DailyMail.

The songs include 'The Worst Person Alive,’ which was second on the chart. Meanwhile, ‘Be Your Man’ ranked at 22, ‘Good Enough’ at 24, and ‘Rough’ at 26.

G Flip also had their singles ‘Australia’ at 50, ‘Real Life’ at 65 and rounded out the chart with ‘7 Days’ at 80.

American rapper Doja Cat took the top spot at number one with her massive hit, ‘Paint The Town Red.’

G Flip’s new achievement had ended longtime holders Wolfmother, who set the record in 2005 with songs from their ‘Joker’ and the ‘Thief’ album.

They have a record of 19 entries in total across multiple Hottest 100 charts. The other non-binary artists who came second and third were Spacey Jane and Billie Eilish.

Many fans reacted to the chart “UM RUSH #8?! Should be top 3 at least,” one said on social media.

“The rush choreography alone should have gotten Troye at least top 3,” wrote the second.

“We were actually so close to getting an Aussie to win,” said a fan.

G Flip whose original name is Georgia Claire Flip, earlier talked with TheMusic.com about her hit song, ‘The Worst Person Alive.’

“This song is about feeling like the worst person alive after being the one to instigate a breakup. One day you’re in a relationship and the other person is your number 1, they know everything about you, they know you better than anyone else, you’ve had some of your best memories with that person and then you break up and you sadly become strangers.”
