ARIZONA: Former Baltimore Ravens star Terrell Suggs found himself in legal trouble on Tuesday in Arizona, as confirmed by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The 41-year-old NFL veteran faces charges of assault and offenses against public order following an alleged road rage incident in Scottsdale.

According to reports from 3TV (Arizona's Family), Suggs made an initial court appearance early Wednesday, where a judge ordered supervised release for the former linebacker.

Court documents outline the incident, which reportedly began at a Starbucks drive-thru on March 10. Allegedly, Suggs reversed his vehicle, striking another car, leading to a confrontation. NBC Sports reported that Suggs purportedly displayed a handgun through his car window, threatening the other individual involved.

Responding to the allegations, Suggs stated to TMZ through spokesperson Denise White through spokesperson Denise White, downplaying the incident. "I was in a quiet area of Scottsdale in the middle of the day in a Starbucks drive-thru near my home when an incident happened with a vehicle behind me," Suggs stated. "I was getting coffee; I was not looking for any trouble."

"When the man in the other vehicle escalated the situation, I feared for my safety not knowing what his intentions were. Throughout the incident, I was the one who felt in danger, while fearing I would be followed home and for the safety of my family nearby at my residence."

Suggs, a prominent figure in both NFL and Arizona football history, has strong ties to the region. He excelled at Hamilton High School in Chandler before becoming a standout at Arizona State University. Additionally, Suggs had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.

Throughout his illustrious NFL career, Suggs achieved significant milestones, including two Super Bowl championships and seven Pro Bowl selections. Renowned for his defensive prowess, he retired in 2020 after a distinguished tenure with the Ravens, where he ranks among the top players in career sacks. Despite his retirement, Suggs briefly returned to the field with the Kansas City Chiefs before officially ending his playing career.
