'General Hospital' star Billy Miller's cause of death revealed as 'multiple letters' found at scene
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Billy Miller, famed for his role in 'General Hospital,' tragically ended his life after years of battling bipolar depression, reports stated, revealing his actual cause of death.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report obtained by RadarOnline disclosed that Miller was found by paramedics at his Austin, Texas, residence’s bathtub on September 15.

The report detailed, “According to reports, this 43-year-old man with a history of bipolar disorder and depression was found deceased in the bathtub of his residence with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.”
The report stated he was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his head.

The report further stated that 'multiple letters' indicating suicidal intent and instructions for others were discovered at the scene. A revolver chambered for .410 shotgun shells was found in the descendant’s right hand.
Miller, who also starred as Billy Abbot on 'The Young and the Restless', took his life just two days shy of his 44th birthday.

The report noted a mix of substances was found in his system before his death. “Postmortem toxicology demonstrated the presence of ethanol, cocaine, and its metabolites, diphenhydramine, and amphetamine,” the report stated with a blood alcohol level of 0.08.

Patricia Miller, Billy’s mother, released a heartfelt statement through her son’s manager on X after his death, thanking fans and friends for the “overwhelming amount of love, prayers [and] condolences sent to me and my family” after her son’s passing.
She shared, “He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease...."
Billy Miller’s accomplished career and legacy
Miller’s role on 'The Young and the Restless' earned him three Daytime Emmys, including two for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series and one for outstanding lead actor in a drama series.
He left the soap in 2014 to join 'General Hospital' where he played Jason Morgan and Drew Cain until 2019, and later appeared in 'Suits' for five episodes.

His career also included roles in 'NCIS,' 'The Rookie,' 'Truth Be Told,' 'Major Crimes,' 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,' 'Castle,' and 'Enormous.'
He had a part in Clint Eastwood’s 2014 war drama 'American Sniper' and Craig Brewer’s 2016 'Urban Cowboy' TV movie drama, starring Nathalie Kelley.
Miller is survived by his mother Patricia, sister Megan, brother-in-law Ronnie, nephew Grayson, and niece Charley.
