George Clooney reveals Amal's reaction to his 'horrible midlife crisis' brunette hair for Broadway play

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: George Clooney is ready to part ways with his dark-dyed hair after wrapping up his latest Broadway project.
The 64-year-old actor had to ditch his iconic silver look for a richer brunette shade to play legendary journalist Edward R Murrow in the stage adaptation of 'Good Night, and Good Luck'.
George Clooney wears a hat to hide 'my bad hair'
With the Tony-nominated show closing at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City on Sunday, June 8, George Clooney opened up about his look during a Monday, June 2, appearance on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'.
Clooney showed up wearing a hat and wasted no time explaining why.

"I'm wearing a hat to hide my bad hair. It's bad. It's still dark on top, but it's gray on the bottom," Clooney said. He said he dyed his hair around two months ago.
Seth Meyers responded, "It looks great on stage, but off stage it looks like you're trying to get away with something," to which Clooney sarcastically replied, "Sure."

The actor then joked, "It's horrible. It looks like you're going through some sort of midlife crisis. I'm 64, midlife is a little stretch."
Clooney had dyed his hair for the role of Edward R Murrow, which he also wrote with longtime collaborator Grant Heslov. The stage production is based on their 2005 film of the same name.
The play opened to strong reviews and was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Actor for Clooney.
It also made history as the first Broadway play to gross $4 million in one week, according to the Daily Mail.
Amal Clooney finds George Clooney's hair transformation 'funny'
Although George Clooney found his hair troubling, his wife, Amal Clooney, took a lighter approach to it.
The actor said that his wife, Amal, found his hair transformation to be "funny," but added that "she'll be glad when it's gone."
Looking ahead to the Tony Awards on the evening of June 9, Clooney revealed his plans after his final matinee performance.
"The last show is Sunday, we do a matinee, and by the time we go to the Tony's that night, it'll be gone," he said.
George Clooney jokes about shaving his head to look like 'Yul Brynner'
George Clooney even joked about going to an extreme with his post-show haircut ahead of the Tony Awards.
"I may have a shaved head, I may look like Yul Brynner," Clooney said.
Meyers noted that might bring luck, referencing Brynner's 1952 Tony win for musical 'The King and I'.
Still, Clooney downplayed his chances at this year’s ceremony. "I'm not thinking very positively about winning a Tony," he said.
