The network had to pay the incumbent a $16 million settlement after Stephanopoulos incorrectly noted a legal liability of his against writer E Jean Carroll in March 2024.
The anchor was also forced to issue a public apology, as Trump sued both him and ABC claiming that the statement was made with "malice" and blatant disregard for truth.
